The Collections Manager at Asbury University’s Kinlaw Library maintains the integrity and accessibility of the library’s collections (both print and electronic) through the preservation, acquisition, payment and processing of materials (periodicals, books, databases, etc.) and institutional documents. The MHL curator partners with the ISGA director to leverage the MHL’s collection for greater global connection and storytelling in ways that enrich academic scholarship and current faith communities. The curator is responsible for collection development and preservation; organization and description of collection materials; providing research assistance to the library patrons; overseeing daily operations and personnel within the library; communicating the value of the MHL’s collections to students, faculty, and local and global researchers and partners; and promotion and outreach that deepens engagement and access.

The salary for this position $49,800 annually. Salary may be adjusted for additional qualifications above and beyond the requirement.

Time is Running Out – 09/2022

My undergraduate college had a tradition of assigning secret pals to encourage one another with gifts and messages. One year my creative secret pal covered the door to my room with Time Magazine covers and a sign that read, “Time is running out…” I enjoyed looking at my door decoration as the end of the semester with term paper deadlines and final exams approached. The door decoration reminded neighbors in my dormitory of all the work they had to do.
