Job Summary

Anderson University and the Thrift Library invite applications for a 12-month, full-time position as Systems and Digital Resources Librarian. This is an in-person, administrative staff position with faculty status. Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as the database administrator for the library’s integrated system in collaboration with PASCAL.
  • Investigates, recommends, implements and troubleshoots APIs and other integrations for the purpose of expediting the quality of work within library departments and/or the user experience with library resources.
  • Troubleshoots and collaborates with others to ensure access and technical support for all digital library resources as well as authentication protocols, proxy configuration, customizing interfaces for electronic resources access and discovery.
  • Provides leadership in solving problems associated with delivery of digital library resources.
  • Collects and analyzes data on the use of collections and services.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and advancement of digital projects.
  • Explores, evaluates, and encourages deployment of emergent technologies into library programs and services.
  • Trains faculty and staff in new information technologies.
  • Ensures copyright compliance for digital resources.
  • Locates, creates, and maintains digital content to support academic instruction.
  • Serves as subject specialist to assigned academic departments; creates and maintains related subject guides.
  • Provides information services to users.
  • Participates in professional development for the purpose of continuing education and contributing to the profession.
  • Actively demonstrates leadership by participating in professional responsibilities that serve the Thrift Library, Anderson University, the profession, and the community

Educational/Experiential Requirements

Qualified candidates will hold a master’s degree in library and information services, or related field is required. Candidates currently enrolled in and working toward completion of a master’s degree in library and information science may be considered. Previous experience and a high level of comfort and proficiency in electronic resources, library technologies, and integrated library systems is desired. Ability to work independently, prioritize among multiple competing projects, manage complex workflows, and sustain a high level of attention to detail is essential.
