What’s the best thing about being a librarian? I enjoy investing in students. The opportunity to be a part of a person’s education is a gift.

Describe ACL in three words: Scholarly, Sociable, and Special

How do you (or How have you), as an academic librarian, contribute to your campus? I serve on the academic policies committee and on the advisory board for the tutoring center. My goal is to make sure the library has a voice in the various conversations that take place on campus.

I began my career as a librarian… I have been working in libraries since my freshman year of college at Indiana Wesleyan University. I continued my pursuit of libraries after graduation by getting a staff position at IWU. It was the librarians there that encouraged me to get my MLS. I have worked in libraries ever since.

What do you value about ACL? The friendships and the network of knowledge

How were you introduced to ACL? The librarians at IWU and the University of Northwestern were instrumental in my involvement in ACL. So many librarians invested in me and contributed to my involvement in ACL.

How are you or have you been involved in ACL? I am currently serving on the ACL Board of Directors. For the past 7 years, I have served on the Conference Coordinating Team as the Presentations Coordinator. I have indexed for CPI and been on the web committee.
