Describe yourself using a book title: Curious George Goes to the Library

What’s the best thing about being a librarian? Being able to share my love of reading with my students by introducing them to the wonderful world books have to offer. I love seeing that light bulb go off when they discover how wonderful books are.

What are you currently reading? The New Testament

Describe ACL in three words: Supportive, Friends, a Blessing.

How do you (or How have you), as an academic librarian, contribute to your campus? I am the PreK-6th grade librarian. I see these classes once a week and teach a computing class to grades K-5th. I enjoy gathering classroom collections for my teachers and students.

I began my career as a librarian…when I was 15 and shelved books three nights a week! I worked my way up in the public library and moved on to a law library, then onto a historical library, and now have been blessed by being in a Christian school library.

What do you value about ACL? I appreciate that there are other Christian librarians out there and that we can support one another.

How were you introduced to ACL? Probably through an ASCI convention.

How are you or have you been involved in ACL? I am involved with the K-12 Interest Group and am a member of the prayer team.

Do you have any specific interests in the library world? I enjoy cataloging materials! I also enjoy reference work.
