What’s the best thing about being a librarian? Forming lasting and meaningful relationships with students, faculty and staff, and watching them (the students) grow in their research and writing skills.

What are you currently reading? Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Describe ACL in three words: Professional / Fellowship / Learning

How do you, as an academic librarian, contribute to your campus? I assist all students (undergraduate, online, and graduate) with matters pertaining to reference, instruction, and access. I also actively participate in mentorship programs, attend events, and make myself available to talk.

I began my career as a librarian . . .as a paraprofessional. I began my MLIS a semester after I joined the staff at Grace Christian University, and just recently finished my degree, and earned the title of Librarian.

What do you value about ACL? The camaraderie, professionalism, and support of the home office and individual members.

How were you introduced to ACL? Through work.

How are you or have you been involved in ACL? I am the secretary of the Bible College Section, and the Poster Session Coordinator for ACL’s Annual Conference. I have presented a poster session, and attended 4 of the last 5 conferences.

Do you have any specific interests in the library world? Academic scholarship, writing, instruction, and ethical research
