Conference Dress:

We suggest Business Casual for the entire conference. Also wear your walking shoes, as there are many opportunities for exploring the neighborhood. Jane Hopkins

Is the conference casual dress? Are the dinners dressy? I want to travel light, but I don't want to feel under or over dressed! I am from a very casual part of Oregon close to Portland, and jeans are common even in weekend church services.

I hope others who are more fashion conscious that I am will also respond, but generally folks dress casual throughout the conference. When I make a presentation or have a part in the proceedings, I generally wear a tie. I hope this helps. Don

"casual" means different things to different people. I would say the important concept for dress attire is comfort. The evening events like the opening reception are dressier and I dress up a bit for my presentations or if I am introducing a speaker, but I always try to wear comfortable shoes. The rest of the time casual summer dress seems fine. I don't think jeans are appropriate except on the extra curricular outings. Tami

Are the meeting rooms air conditioned?

Yes--the most of the campus is air-conditioned. Areas NOT air-conditioned include Nazareth Chapel (used for Devotions), Nazareth Cafe (dining area for most meals, although there is a small side area with air conditioning), and Nazareth hallways.

Do we need to bring hangers? Sometimes there are some and other times none. I usually bring 2-3 wire hangers which I can leave behind Linda

Is the campus compact, or is there a fair amount of walking between dorms, meeting rooms, and cafeteria?

* The Northwestern campus is very walkable, with the dorms a little farther from the center of campus than they were at Evangel. Bring your walking shoes. There is parking at the dorms and near the meeting rooms and dining room if you need to drive. Jane Hopkins

This is my first conference. I am not able to come in until Monday. Is that too late for check-in and registration? Where will check-in and registration be?

You can still check in on Monday or Tuesday. On-campus check-in registration information will be announced in the spring.
