Job Summary

Cedarville University (Cedarville, Ohio) is seeking an assistant professor of library science to serve as a STEM/Business Librarian. This position is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track position within the University’s Centennial Library reporting to the Director of Library Public Services. Possessing a STEM or business education along with a library degree, the STEM/Business Librarian will contribute to the development and delivery of library instruction services, research and information services, and individual research assistance, with special focus on undergraduate and graduate business, engineering, computer science, mathematics, and science students and faculty.

Job Responsibilities

The STEM/Business Librarian will provide expert and innovative research support to students and faculty in the STEM and Business programs and will work with STEM and Business faculty to deliver an effective information literacy instruction strategy. He or she will also seek to implement partnerships with the STEM and Business programs. Working collaboratively as part of the library’s research team, the STEM/Business Librarian will help deliver research support services to all students and will assist with the effective implementation of innovative library technology, online tools, and digital services.


The successful candidate will possess an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree and a minimum of three years of relevant academic library experience. The successful candidate will also be an excellent classroom communicator, be conversant with relevant research methodologies, possess an academic degree in a STEM or Business field, and demonstrate the ability to engage in proactive, creative outreach.
