Library Faculty Position - College of the Ozarks - Point Lookout, MO

JOB SUMMARY

College of the Ozarks is a fully accredited, Christian, liberal arts college located just outside Branson, Missouri. Founded in 1906 by Presbyterian minister Reverend James Forsythe as a high school called The School of the Ozarks, the institution became a junior college in 1956 before becoming a four-year bachelor’s program in 1965. It has been called College of the Ozarks since 1990. The mission of the College of the Ozarks is to provide the advantages of a Christian education for youth of both sexes, especially those found worthy, but who are without sufficient means to procure such training.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Lyons Memorial Library. A master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited program is required. Duties include collection development, cataloging, and teaching a section of LSC 213 Information Literacy. The successful applicant will be evaluated primarily on teaching and advising; however, other forms of scholarship, as well as, service to the College and community are actively encouraged and supported. The starting date is June 2021. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is on a track leading to a multi-year letter of appointment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission and demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate students, a commitment to serving as a mentor and positive role model, and an interest in the relationship of library science to Christian faith.
