Library CIrculation & Service Desk Supervisor - Northwest Nazarene University - Nampa, ID


The Library Circulation & Service Desk Supervisor Oversee all library circulation department functions including working with all aspects of the circulation module of the integrated library system. This position will also act as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Academic Services. This is a 12-month, hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Dean of Academic Services.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop student assistants for the library and the learning commons service desk.
  • Create and maintain service desk student employee schedule and serve as back up when needed.
  • Supervise student assistants including monitoring attendance/time sheets and job performance and conducting both informal and formal evaluations of student assistants.
  • Collaborate with library faculty to develop, assign and oversee student projects throughout the year.
  • Manage the first tier of support for all NNU technology and library services, ensuring student assistants evaluate and answer or refer help requests appropriately.
  • Work directly with faculty to maintain the Reserve Collection.
  • Process bills for non-returned library materials.
  • Assist the Director of Library Services to facilitate payment of invoices and U-cards, renewal of database and periodical subscriptions and ordering books and supplies.
  • Assist Academic Services Dean with submission of load sheets, scheduling meetings, taking minutes and serving as contact person for all NNU faculty and students to facilitate the online course evaluation process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate of Arts/Science degree in any field
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience in a library, business or customer service field
  • All candidates must have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), be in agreement with the doctrine of the Nazarene church, agree to live within the mission and lifestyle values of NNU, and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in any field
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in a supervisory role
