Librarian - Judson College - AL
Judson College, a private college of arts and sciences located in Marion, Alabama which grants the Bachelor of Arts degree, the Bachelor of Science degree, the Bachelor of Social Work degree, and the Associate Degree in Nursing, seeks a Librarian. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about all aspects of Judson College’s mission statement, including the institution's commitment to refine the intellect and wisdom of each student through exposure to a highly qualified faculty and a rigorous liberal arts curriculum, as well as the institution's commitment to collaborate with each student as they seek to deepen faith and participate in vocational discernment.
The candidate must be able to catalog resources in accordance with national and international cataloging standards. Familiarity with, or the ability to learn to navigate, KOHA- and EBSCO-based software services, along with other electronic resources, is required. The successful candidate collaborate with faculty to develop the library collections. Additionally, he or she must possess an understanding of accepted frameworks for information literacy in higher education and demonstrate enthusiasm for providing quality research assistance and instruction to students. The successful candidate will be committed to sharing and promoting library resources through library outreach and the maintenance and creation of LibGuides.
Educational / Experiential Qualifications
The successful candidate will have either earned a Master’s degree at an ALA-accredited institution or be a graduate student in good standing at an ALA-accredited program. Applications of candidates who have earned or who are actively pursuing the M.L.I.S. degree will receive especially close examination.
