JOB SUMMARY

Cedarville University (Cedarville, Ohio) is seeking an assistant professor of library science to serve as a Health Sciences Librarian. This position is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track position within the University’s Centennial Library reporting to the Director of Library Public Services. Possessing a health sciences education along with a library degree, the Health Sciences Librarian will contribute to the development and delivery of library instruction services, research and information services, and individual research assistance, with special focus on undergraduate and graduate nursing, pharmacy, kinesiology and allied health, psychology, and social work students and faculty.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Health Sciences Librarian will provide expert and innovative research support to students and faculty in the health sciences programs and will work with faculty to deliver an effective information literacy instruction strategy. He or she will also seek to implement partnerships with the health sciences programs. Working collaboratively as part of the library’s research team, the Health Sciences Librarian will help deliver research support services to all students and will assist with the effective implementation of innovative library technology, online tools, and digital services.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will possess an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree and a minimum of three years of relevant academic or medical library experience. The successful candidate will also be an excellent classroom communicator, be conversant with relevant research methodologies, possess an academic degree in a health sciences field, and demonstrate the ability to engage in proactive, creative outreach.
