Director of Library & Information Services - Brewton-Parker College, Inc. - Mount Vernon, GA


Brewton-Parker College currently is seeking a full-time Director of Library and Information Services to start during the 2022 spring semester. Salary and academic rank will be determined commensurate with academic credentials, experience, and other factors.

The College: Brewton-Parker College, tracing its origin to 1904, is a four-year, coeducational Christian liberal arts college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, offering more than twenty areas of undergraduate study to a diverse population of about 800 students in the micropolitan setting of Mount Vernon/Vidalia in the South-Central region of Georgia. As a Georgia Baptist institution, Brewton-Parker affirms the supremacy of Christ and expects members of the faculty and administration to model Christian values before the students, in their professional activities, and in their lives.


To begin in January, 2022, the Director will provide oversight for all aspects of library operations, including cataloguing, collection development, circulation, scheduling and supervision of library staff and student workers, budgeting, community relations, and strategic planning. The Director reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President and serves as a voting member of both the Academic Council and the Faculty Assembly. The Director also may be called upon to teach classes as needed.


Qualified candidates must have at least a master’s degree in Library and Information Science or some allied discipline. Preferred candidates in addition will possess graduate credentials in one of the teaching fields represented in the college’s curriculum. Candidates with terminal credentials also will be preferred.
