JOB SUMMARY

Oklahoma Christian University (Edmond, OK) is seeking a Digital Services Librarian. This tenure-track faculty position reports to the Dean of Library & Instructional Support and is responsible for coordinating access to and maintenance of the digital resources provided by the Beam Library. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works cooperatively with librarians and staff to promote the use of digital tools and resources to serve our community.
  • Maintains the Library’s social media presence and website.
  • Coordinates and maintains content for web and mobile-enabled interactive services that provide a quality user experience.
  • Collaborates with the IT staff to develop information service strategies and initiatives that maintain a high level of patron satisfaction with on-site and digital technology resources.
  • Identifies, develops, and delivers instruction in research skills, copyright, and the use of digital technologies.
  • Works with collection development, including acquisition, evaluation, selection, and weeding digital and print library materials.
  • Provides reference and research services.
  • Collects, maintains, and reports digital resources/services statistical data.
  • Keeps informed of professional and technological developments through a professional organization, workshops, continuing education courses, and reading professional materials.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited library school (preferred) OR master’s degree in a related field (degree in progress will also be considered).
