Bible College Librarian - Calvary Chapel Bible College- Twin Peaks, CA

Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) exists to train and develop men and women of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities into Christ-like disciples and servant-leaders who know God through His Word and are equipped by His Spirit to serve Him in every area of life, for the glory of God. The Librarian will pro-actively serve and support the students, faculty, and staff of CCBC by delivering a broad array of library services, including instruction in information literacy, management of reference and collection materials, and management of online learning resources. The Librarian will serve as a member of the administrative faculty, and is responsible for supporting and promoting the educational objectives of the College: "To strengthen the Body of Christ, through the light of GodÂ's Word, for service in the world
  • Developing the Library''s physical and online collection of learning resources to support faculty and student needs for resources to support their biblical, theological, and general studies; includes acquiring and processing book donations
  • Creating training materials and providing instruction in research and information literacy
  • Supervising, training, and directing library workers to maintaining a clean, organized, efficient, effective, safe, and hospitable Library environment
  • Supporting the College''s accreditation efforts through assessment, reporting, strategic planning, developing written policies and procedures related to learning resources
  • Monitoring and managing the Library module in Populi, CCBC''s student information, library, and learning management software
  • Managing library expenditures and budgeting
  • Providing access to learning resources for online, hybrid, and off-campus students
  • Occasional, related duties as requested by the Academic Dean
  • Cooperating with the rest of the CCBC faculty and staff in pursuit of the College's mission and vision
  • Reports to the Academic Dean
  • Supervises a library intern (if available), student workers, and volunteers
  • Is accessible and responsive to faculty, staff, and students​
  • Works in harmony with the staff of the Registrar's Office and Online Learning to support student retention and learning outcomes.

  • Keep the Academic Dean informed of regular business and needs as they arise
  • Master's Degree in Library & Information Science from an ALA-accredited program (in-progress applicants may be considered)
  • Strong commitment to information literacy instruction, and an aptitude for teaching online and in person.
  • Ability to provide individual research assistance and instruction on request
  • Demonstrated expertise in resource evaluation, database searching, and information retrieval for biblical, theological, and general studies
  • Working knowledge of and ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies, and familiarity with their impact on higher education.
  • Familiarity with current trends and issues in information literacy training and critical thinking skills training
  • Evidence of responsibility and team leadership ability
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills
  • Pleasant, professional demeanor and practice of business etiquette
