			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Association of Christian Librarian&#8217;s 55th Annual Conference will be held June 13-16, 2011, at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, with the theme &#8220;Inspiring Greatness: The Library in the Academy!&#8221;  Announcement cards are in the mail and should be arriving in your mailbox very soon!  The Conference website gives all the details; go to the <a href="http://conference.acl.org/" target="_blank">2011 Conference Website</a>.  We are trying a new format this year in order to incorporate some member suggestions from past conferences.  We have included an optional tour that will take place on Thursday, at the end of conference.  Please note that official conference business will conclude with lunch on Thursday.  If you are planning on taking the tour or leaving Cedarville on Friday, you will need to register for Thursday lodging in addition to the conference package.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium"><strong>Online Registration is now open! </strong></span>There is one main form for members and non-members.  At the top of the main form, there is a link to switch to the Guest Registration form.  Please use one form for each person registering.  <strong>Did you know</strong> that if your institution is a member of the Christian Library Consortium (CLC), you can send one individual from your institution at the member rate, even if they are not a member of ACL?  The Early Bird Registration Deadline (with a discount) is April 30, and the Final Registration Deadline is May 10.   Go to the <a href="https://www.acl.org/application/conferenceregform.cfm" target="_blank">Online Registration Form</a> to register now!</p>
<p>1. Complete the online registration form and choose &#8220;Pay by Check&#8221; or &#8220;Pay by Credit Card&#8221; at the end of the form.  (If this does not work for you, you may request a .pdf version of the form via e-mail, <a href="mailto:confreg@acl.org" target="_blank">confreg@acl.org</a>.</p>
<div>2. Once you have submitted your registration online, you will be able to print a confirmation.</p>
<p>3. If you chose &#8220;Pay by Check&#8221;, simply mail your check indicating which attendee&#8217;s registrations are included in the check. You do not need to send a printed copy of the registration form with your check if you have submitted the registration online.</p>

<p>It is time to start thinking about doing a presentation or poster session at the ACL 2011 Conference.</p>
<p><strong>Proposal Form &amp; Deadline </strong></p>
<p>Fill out &amp; submit the ACL 2011 Presentation Proposal form at <a href="/conference/proposal/" target="_blank">http://www.acl.org/conference/proposal/</a> by October 22, 2010.</p>
<p>Proposals are reviewed and approved by members of the conference planning team, and you should receive a reply by mid-November.</p>
<p>Poster session proposals will be reviewed by the poster session coordinator and may have different deadlines, so please watch for more information on poster sessions.</p>
<p><strong>Things to consider:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Session Formats</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> <em>Workshop</em>&#8211; Presentation of current library issue or technology in lecture or hands-on format, allowing time at end for questions and discussion.</li>
<li> <em>Panel</em>&#8211; Group of two or three experts presenting the same concepts or varying points of view, allowing time at end for questions and discussion.</li>
<li> <em>Roundtable Discussion</em> &#8212; Informal group discussion around a specific topic.  Leader will be prepared with comments and questions, keep discussion focused on topic and encourage the participation of all attendees.</li>
<li> <em>Paper </em>&#8211; Presentation of short paper, either read or summarized, allowing time at end for questions and discussion.   Please remember that even paper presentations need to be delivered in an engaging manner.</li>
<li> <em>Poster Sessions</em>– These are “mini-workshops” held during the vendor time.  The presenter prepares a poster or PowerPoint presentation and is available to answer questions and provide additional information.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Other Presentation Requirement</strong></p>

<li> A short summary of your presentation for the website, and a little longer abstract for the conference notebook will be required.</li>
